Good Scores - Good Libraries Linked
A recent two year study in Illinois showed that test scores were at least 5% higher at  high schools that have well trained media specialists and that are well equipped.  The study was funded by a 21st Century Fluency Program Grant.

Read for a Lifetime

This program is sponsored the the Illinois Secretary of State.  Students must register by October 2005 and read four books from the suggested list by April 2006.  Participants will get chances to win prizes sponsored by Conant Media Center. Get the List here
