Mr. Malmquist has been teaching music for many years, all of them here at Conant High School. He started out as a science major on an athletic scholarship in Minnesota at the Bemidji State
University doing baseball, track, and football. He completed an English literature degree at Western Illinois University where he studied violin. He then completed a second degree there in music education. He loved
music so much that he entered a conducting competition and won. That's when he decided to master in music. Mr. Malmquist has a Master's Degree from the University of Wisconsin.
